Dr. Mosunic is a licensed
doctor of clinical psychology, a masters level dietitian, and certified diabetes educator. He draws
upon his training and expertise in each of these distinct
professions in order to most effectively manage and treat mood disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression), overweight,
obesity, type 1 diabetes (t1dm), type 2 diabetes (t2dm), gestational diabetes (GDM), anorexia nervosa, and bulimia nervosa.
Dr. Mosunic's Personal Treatment Philosophy:My philosophy is that every person seeking to improve their health is unique, not only in how they actually came to be where they are today but in how they need to be treated. Diet, exercise, and psychological assistance will differ from person to person and emphasis is placed on permanent change (e.g., weight loss and most importantly weight maintenance). This is one of the main reasons generalized diet and exercise prescriptions fail for so many people. We can not expect one solution to answer such a complex problem. Instead, we must tailor the experience to each individual and treat from a variety of angles. For example, when weight loss is the primary goal for treatment, tools/skills are introduced from the start to maintain the weight that is lost. These tools/skills are going to differ considerably from person to person. Genetics, environment, thoughts, and behaviors have worked synergistically to form who you are today. You are different from every other person and an "all-purpose" treatment style is not an option. Each client will be cared for exclusively. That is my guarantee. |
